    Department/Faculty Libraries. The departmental and affiliated libraries are specialist libraries that will stock subject specific items. These libraries stock material for part 1 and part 2 of the Tripos, as well as material for graduate study. University Library. Around 60% of books and journals in the UL are stored in closed access areas. The Geography Department Library supports the teaching of the Geographical Tripos and MPhil courses in the department. O titles are currently held, includ monographs, 2, offprints and series (working papers from other university geography departments).

      The University Library purchases some books directly from Cambridge Books Online. At this time, less than 10% of the books offered by Cambridge University Press on this site have been purchased by the library. However, we do purchase many Cambridge University Press books on other platforms including eBrary, EBSCO eBooks, and Knovel.   Ebooks will come up alongside other material types when you search Cambridge Libraries Collection in iDiscover (you will also find our ebooks if you search Articles and online resources).Ebooks to which we have access will show up as ‘BOOK’, with either a green Online access link (record 1 below), or a grey Online access restricted to designated PCs link (record 6 below).

On J we officially launched our first 'zero contact' services at Cambridge University Library with the start of both 'Click & Collect' and a staffed book drop. Our 'Scan & Deliver' service launched on July 6, Now that the physical reopening of the UL is under way, we want to share with.

Please read more about our phased reopeningof the UL and Faculty and Departmental Libraries. The biggest library is the University Library (UL) on West Road and is run by the University Librarian. It is a Legal Deposit library, so (in theory) gets a copy of every book published in the UK.

Most of the department and faculty libraries are also run by the University Librarian, so share certain features, like access to Electronic Legal Depost.

Cambridge University Libraries use approved suppliers and platforms for ebook supply, to ensure ongoing and secure access. Sometimes an ebook will only be available on an insecure platform, which we cannot use.

Similarly, some ebooks are not hosted on a secure platform but must be downloaded and hosted locally. An annotated copy of H. Luard's Catalogue of adversaria and printed books containing MS. notes preserved in the library of the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, ) is available at the Staff Desk; although now largely out of date, this can be of occasional help.

Some of the Library's armorial bindings are indexed in an incomplete file. Bringing cambridge university libraries to you. the University Library will begin to provide limited services for students and staff to pick up books ordered online, We intend to expand these services to include books held in the Faculty and Departmental libraries when it is safe and feasible to do so.
